About
Did you ever want to become a journalist? Have you ever thought about how a newspaper outlet is run? Or do you just want to learn how to differentiate an opinion from a fact, reliable news from propaganda? This course will give you a taste of all of it. A good journalist must know much more than just the correct journalistic forms and grammar. It is indispensable to know how to recognise reliable and unreliable sources, how to verify your information and how to act and communicate with people so that you as a journalist are a trusted partner.
This course will offer the right mixture of theoretical knowledge about the most common forms of journalistic texts like a reportage, interview, opinion piece, editorial, etc. combined with practical sessions when we will become the editorial staff of a Discover Academy Magazine which we will issue at the end of the week. We will therefore simulate a real newspaper outlet and try to dig under the surface, investigate, criticise, ridicule or simply inform about the main events of the week and about the summer academy as such.
If you want to learn about journalistic work and become a journalist for a week yourself sign up for this course!
