The Cognitive Psychology course is for everyone interested in how our brain and mind works and also for everyone who would like to explore the experimental psychology in greater depth. Course will be aimed at current knowledge and findings and will discuss following topics (and much more):

• Does our brain sometimes deceive us? How is it possible that sometimes we can not see something that is right in front of us? Why is the left hemisphere sometimes called the „interpreter“?
• How valid is the autobiographical memory? What are false memories? Do history-proved memory techniques exist? Is it sometimes useful to forget?
• What are the most widely believed cognitive psychology myths? How much of the brain capacity do we actually use? Is it true that we are born with all our brain cells?
• What is „heuristic“? Aren´t too many choices sometimes paralysing?
• How can we correctly read research papers? How can we recognise false results? How to make research using modern technologies? What is eye-tracking?

The course does not assume any previous knowledge. However, you should be interested in the field of neuroscience, cognition and research. I expect you to actively participate in the discussion, activities and experiments and I always welcome additional questions and your own contributions to the topics. I am going to recommend you other options to educate yourself in psychology, including e-learning options.
